Form of course completion:
Exam
Annotation:
Knowledge acquired in the master study about the synthesis and reactivity of key heterocyclic compounds both aromatic and non-aromatic character will be broaden. In practical cases, the biological activity of various heterocyclic molecules will be shown.
The most important group of drugs will be discussed:
- CNS drugs (antipsychotics, antidepressants, analgesics, hypnotics, anti-allergics and other substances of this group)
- Agents acting on the autonomic nervous system
- Agents acting on the cholinergic system
- Agents acting on the circulatory system and blood
- Drugs acting on the urinary and digestive system
- Anti-infective agents
- Antitumor chemotherapeutics
Besides the mentioned drug as well as other biologically active substances both natural and synthetic will be discussed.
