Ph.D. study
The Ph.D. study of organic chemistry is focused on the synthesis of organic compounds, determination of their structure and the study of the structure/activity relationship. It also involves the recognition of the mechanism of chemical processes, the preparation of new organic molecules with desired properties for practical use and their application in various fields such as pharmacy, biology, polymer chemistry and the chemistry of new materials. The results of research in organic chemistry serve as an important source of knowledge for other disciplines, especially biochemistry, molecular biology and macromolecular chemistry. The Department of Organic Chemistry has developed a program of international collaboration with various institutions and universities abroad, which enables Ph.D. students to do part of their research at other facilities. |
